Seth and Sheila Chapelle as well as myself were able to spend a week traveling around South Africa after the Fluid Team trip to the Zambezi. We were able to see tons of amazing things as well as meet some amazing people. One of my favorite experiences from the trip was the two days that we spent surfing at the Wave House just outside Durbin, South Africa. Over the course of two days Seth and I managed to ride the Flowrider and D-Rex artificial wave machines for a total of 9+ hrs.. Sheila joined us for almost 5 hrs. on the second day. This thing is some much fun it is really addicting! If you are ever in Durbin or San Diego, CA be sure to check one of these things out. It's amazing that you can surf an artificial wave and literally tell the wave operator how big of a wave you want. Be sure to bring some ibuprofen on your first few experiences. You do take a beating when you wipe-out on this thing, but it is more that worth a few bruises.
