2004 Potomac Whitewater Festival
Fluid had a huge showing at the 2004 Potomac Whitewater Festival. During the Rodeo Fluid was represented in every class, except the junior division. Four of the six women that competed were in S Flirts. Fluid paddlers did very well during the competition, even though most of the paddlers had been in their new Flirts less than three times. Huge congradulations go out to Deb O'keefe for her 1st place finish in Womens K-1 Pro. She brought home the gold with her consistent style and clean ends. Joe Stumpfel also took 1st place in the C-1 division with Seth Chapelle comming in a closely contested 2nd. Joe threw big loops and consistent ends both ways. He was also the only one to sucessfully pull off a McNasty in the rodeo hole, portage hole. Seth threw down with some huge air loops that made everyone cheer. Sera Janson paddled my demo S Flirt to a first place finish in the womens freeride competition as well. If you weren't in a Fluid boat, you probably still had a Fluid beach ball helping you get those huge air loops. Besides being such a fun and action packed event Fluid also welcomed Stanley Esquivel and Jeremy Adkins to the team. Both of these guys competed well and put on a great show during practice. With a little more time in the boats, they picked them up the day before the competition, these guys will be unstopable. I would like to thank all of the local and Fluid team paddlers for making my Potomac Fest. so much fun. I would also like to thank everyone who demoed a Flirt this weekend. Hopefully next year Fluid boats will again make their mark on the Festival. Thanks, Bryon Dorr (Check out pictures of the Festival Events at PotomacPaddlers.com) |
