Started Paddling: 1992

Countries Paddled: Canada, US, Ecuador, Chile

Favorite River: Outside CA the Oyocachi in Equador.  In CA it’s just too tough to say…

Favorite Creek: Upper Cherry Creek, South Silver Creek (its short, steep and when things are right a cool after work run) Bridge Creek, anything with that sweet, sweet granite!

Favorite Playspot: Gauge Hole on the Merced, Big Sur on the Colorado (its been awhile though.)

Favorite Wave Move: …bouncy, bouncy…

Favorite Hole Move: Orbit or the Fancy Schmancy, what I call some entrance move thing, that probably has another name

Role Models: Walt Blackadar, Edward Abbey

First Descents: South Fork Mokelumne and the Upper Upper Pack in Idaho…that’s the rumor anyway…I don’t know with the old guard up there in the Pan Handle.

Last Significant Thrashing: The drive back from a long one day on the Waterfalls on Dinkey creek.  Exhausted from a long day, nerves frayed, lots of double shots added an edge but kept me awake…when I finally got home and hit the sack I kept thinking I was falling asleep at the wheel and would jump up awake…eventually I passed out into a restless sleep filled with nightmares that I was falling and falling and falling through some horrible sievy…too much detail maybe…there was a lot going on that day.

Musical Taste: Bob Marley rules!

Longest Drive to Paddling Destination: About 13 hrs one way from Missoula, MT, solo, with no tunes, for a weekend on Westwater canyon…it ended up snowing for most of it.

Favorite Fast Food: In-n-out Burger, Double Double Animal-style and neopolitan shake

Favorite After Paddling Restaurant: Adalberto’s Taqueria
