(Huge crowds enjoying the Hooligan race.)
(One of the many creative Hooligan craft.) Saturday night at FIBark was packed full of action. The Hooligan race, a crazy floating craft competition, brought out the crowds and the Pro freestyle finals kept the crowds happy. The Freestyle event started at 7pm and went well into the night. The finals for both men and women were under the lights, which made for a spectacular show. I worked as a judge once again, working hard with the huge rides being thrown by the competitiors. Deb O'Keefe had a huge smile and a bunch of clean ends, as you would expect from Deb, on her first ride. Her second ride was a bit rough as she started feeling quite ill. Deb ended up placing 13th in the Pro Women. Seth styled his rides in the Pro Mens finals, but all the competitors really steped up thier games. Seth ended up in 11th out of 30+ pro men.
(The signature Deb smile.)
(Seth throwing yet another big loop.)
(Seth happy about his rides.)
(Scribe Tyler and Judge Bryon.) Sunday was another busy day with the crazy river dog competiton, down river race, and Sport/Junior/Expert freestlye finals. I again judged for the Junior and Expert classes. The Juniors steped up thier game and put on a good show. At the end of the day was the awards ceremony and Seth was crowned US National C-1 Champion, and even got a little cash.
(Gary 3rd C-1, Seth C-1 National Champion, and Chad the organizer.) I'd like to thank all the organizers of FIBark this year for an amazing event. A special thanks goes out the Chad for organizing the freestlye events and Matt for being the head judge. Expect the Fluid crew to be at many FIBarks to come. I know that Graeme is determined to come back and take the boatercross title and Seth is driven to compete well against the Pro Men. See you on the river- Bryon |
