(Beaver/Raquette Head Cam Video: 23.9mb) As has been tradition for the last 4 years Bobby Miller and I made our annual Labor Day jaunt up to the beautiful Adirondack park in upstate New York for the fall drawdown on the Beaver and Raquette Rivers. The Beaver river is located about 30 minutes north of Lowville, New York and is divided into 3 distinct sections of varying difficulty, Taylorville (class 3-4), Moshier (class 3-5), and Eagle (class 5). The Raquette River is located about 30 minutes northeast of Gouverneur, New York and consists of a half dozen or so class 4-5 rapids spread out over several miles. This video, shot exclusively through the use of a helmet camera, shows the runs as I saw them and gives you an intimate glimpse into the character and power of these wonderful northeast gems. I would like to thank Kevin Colburn and American Whitewater for coordinating the releases and making these runs accessible for us to enjoy!!! Joe Stumpfel Team Fluid and Co-Designer of the Solo |
